They met face-to-face once more, yet there was no sense of the closeness from the night before. In the cold gaze of Qin Zhiyou, she felt as if she was nothing more than a stranger.

They finished their meal in silence. It wasn’t until after he had cleared his mouth with his napkin that Qin Zhiyou promptly stood up to leave without sparing a single glance at Lu Weixi. Secretary Wang quickly followed, and they left the villa without uttering a single word.
Only after he had left did Lu Weixi breathe a sigh of relief. She was used to Qin Zhiyou’s cold demeanor and while it was a bit odd, she could handle it. She drove to work and continued dealing with Huang Caiwei. Since the client had switched from her husband to her, many designs needed to be revised. With Huang Caiwei’s numerous demands, Lu Weixi was still busy at work until seven in the evening when she received a call from the villa.
